School Organisation

The school is organised into 14 classes with 2 classes per year group. Children join Early Years in the September following their 4^th birthday and the Governors adhere to the KS1 class size legislation.

The leadership team consists of the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, 2 Assistant Heads one for each keystage. Working alongside the members of the SLT are 2 Middle Managers responsible for the Performing Arts and Outdoor Learning. The school is divided into phase teams led by SLT and Middle Managers as follows;

• Early Years
• Key Stage 1
• Lower Key Stage 2 (year 3 and 4)
• Upper Key Stage 2 (year 5 and 6)

All Curriculum areas have a subject leader who has overall responsibility for that aspect of the Curriculum throughout the school; however English and Maths have a subject leader within both Key Stages. Members of the Governing Body are also linked to each of the Curriculum Areas.

Private instrumental lessons are available for pupils from Year 3 upwards; our specialist music teacher runs a Wind Band, Orchestra and Choir which all meet weekly to practise their skills, have fun and prepare for performances.

The School has a Performing Arts specialist teacher who teaches dance from Years 3 – 6.

French is taught from Year 3 by our specialist French teacher and our art specialist teaches within KS2.

All pupils receive a 6 week block of Forest School each year. Eco Warriors and the School Council meet regularly and contain members from each year group – please see their group pages for more information and photographs of some of the activities they take part in.
